Tam Dao 01 jack-up rig coming to DQS No.1 Dock for repairing

In the morning of 15/10/2012, Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Company Ltd. (DQS) has received Tam Dao 01 jack-up rig (Tam Dao 01) of Vietsovpetro to the No. 1 Dock of DQS for repairing and maintenance.

Tam Dao 01 jack-up rig was built in 1988 in Singapore, overhauled and upgraded in 2006 under the supervision of the Vietnam Register. This is one of the most important rig for exploration and exploitation of oil and gas of Vietsovpetro. Tam Dao 01 has a length of 64.2m, width 68m, height 8m, leg length of 100.10m, drilling well depth of 6000m. Main items repaired at DQS: electrical and automation systems, anti-corrosion painting, hull structure, ballast system, mechanical system, power system, drilling system ... The total value of the contract is about 370 billion VND.

DQS has mobilized 7 tugboats towing the rig to Dock safety. Right after entering Dock, DQS engineers and workers have drained and clean shell to prepare for the next stages of repair. Expectedly, the time of repairing and maintenance of Tam Dao 01 is 04 months.

From the beginning of the year, the Dung Quat Shipyard has successfully repaired and deliveried 03 cranes vessels and 01 FSO vessel 150.000 DWT tons for ship owner Vietsovpetro.
